BALAMURALIKRISHNA
INTRODUCTION
Balamuralikrishna (1930–2016) was a famous singer, music composer, and also a talented actor in the film Industry. He was the Sangeetha Kalanidhi awardee, and also given Padma Vibhushan award for his great contribution in the field of music.
Balamuralikrishna started his music journey at his young age itself. He gave many musical concerts throughout the world. He sang beautiful songs on the Hindu deities, and he has been gifted a divine voice, which stole the hearts of the Music lovers.
In his life long career, he sang thousands of songs in all the south Indian languages.
Balamuralikrishna was born in the present day Andhra Pradesh, and his father and mother are also belonged to the Musical field. He learned Carnatic music under a famous scholar, who belonged to the lineage of Saint Thyagaraja’s disciples.
Balamuralikrishna has sung in several south Indian films and acted in the famous Telugu films like Bhakta Prahlada, which was released in the year 1967, and in that picture, he played the role of Devarishi Narada.
Balamuralikrishna died in Chennai in the year 2016, due to a cardiac arrest. After his death, his family has started the Balamurali Krishna Memorial Trust, in memory of the great person.
Sri Balamurali Krishna was a noble person, and he guided lot of students, and taught Carnatic Music to them. He was a great devotee of Lord Rama, and sung many songs on Lord Rama, and on Guru Raghavendra.
He is still remembered for his great talent in the Musical field, and for his soft nature.
