Dr. Varshneyaji says, River beds are the highways of cloud travel from Sea to Land. Aero dynamic Resistance is low on water-bodies. On River water beds, evaporation rate is high and vapour particles goes upwards and interact with travelling clouds on river-bed, which creates continuum. It results in increasing humidity and size of vapour aerosols already in clouds and develops the hygroscopic aerosols in droplet form which causes precipitation.
Aerosol Science
Tuukka Petaja concludes, the particles formed in the atmosphere depends crucially on their hygroscopic properties. In this study, air-mass origin and transport routes were observed to have a dramatic effect on the water uptake of particles.
Anthropogenic pollution (man-made pollution) increased hygroscopic properties days, after initial contact with the sources. This influences also the ability of the particles to act as cloud condensation nuclei. Thus it has a potential to even change precipitation patterns and cloud-albedo downward of the pollution sources. Reference “Report Series in Aerosol Science” No. 84(2006)

Mr. Tuukka Petaja (Helsinki University) concludes in his essay that. “Highest rate of growth of formation of nanometer sized atmospheric aerosol particles were detected in coastal areas and in industrial pollution plumes. Largest growth rate of atmospheric aerosols was observed in the polluted urban environments.”
This may cause polluted rains which affect the crops and human health.
Yajna and Rains
In Yajneeya Process, hygroscopic aerosol particles generated from medicinal plants and aromatic substance results in pure water from rains and healthy atmosphere for crops and human health.
Ref: In the Vedic period, once Rishi Angiras, was performing yajna for a long period but cows, whose milk was used in Yajna, became weak day by day, due to poisonous grass, grown from polluted rains.
So Maharshi Angiras performed another Yajna for pure rains, to grow the healthy grass to feed the cows. After performance of this Yajna, pure rain occurred and healthy grass began growing. And then Angiras obtained sufficient milk from cows for the Yajna.
Vedic Yajneeya Science
According to Vedic Traditional Yajneeya Science, Somayag should be performed on the banks of Maha Nadi i.e. Big Rivers. From ancient times to modern days Somayagas are generally performed on the banks of huge Rivers, like Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari, Krishna, Kaveri, Tunga Bhadra, Narmada etc.
“Saraswat Satra Somayag” was performed continuously for a complete year on the banks of Saraswati River in the Vedic period. Each day the Somayag spot was changed and moved deeper. It meant that a large area of Saraswati River was covered under the Somayag Process. According to Meteorological and Aerosol Science principles, most of the Somayag sites were selected on the banks of rivers like Alaknanda, Narmada, Patal Ganga, Godavari, Bhima, Chambal, Tapi and on eastern and western sea shores.
