LORD KATILA
INTRODUCTION
Lord Katila is the son of Lord Yama and Mata Urmila, a divine goddess who guides the souls to reach their respective worlds. Lord Katila is living in the Yama Loka, and helping his father and mother to discharge their duties in a proper manner. Though he is the son of the death god Yama, he gives good health, sound mind and all kinds of prosperities to us. We would not get the death fear, if we worship him sincerely throughout our life.
Lord Katila is an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva, and frequently visits the Shiva Loka, and prays wholeheartedly to the divine couple, Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati. His name was mentioned in the ancient Puranas and other Hindu texts, and similar to his father, he also receives his share of oblation from the fire sacrifices.
He appears in golden colour, and he holds the pot of divine nectar in one hand and in other hand, he holds wealth. He gives divine nectar to the blessed souls in the Yama Loka, and helps them to reach the divine worlds. He is considered as a very ancient god, and he contain great powers, similar to his father and mother.
Lord Katila must be worshipped by everyone, since everyone born in this world, must have to die on some day. At the present day situation, by worshipping him, he would give good fortunes in our life, and we would become fearless and painless in our life. Lord Katila was born out of the prayers made by his parents on Lord Shiva. It is believed, that during the time of his birth, he chanted the Shiva Mantra, “OM NAMAH SHIVAYA”, and due to that, he is very much liked by Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati.
He is also worshipped by the divine demi gods and the sages, in order to live their life peacefully.
