PRESS RELEASE
Application oriented Indic psychology program to enhance professional effectiveness
PG Diploma in Applied Vedic Psychology launched by MIT School of Vedic Sciences
22nd March: Pune: Effectively managing the working of the mind has always been crucial for individual success and for an equitable society. This is especially true in today’s fast-paced and interconnected world. The need to understand the big picture comprising material as well as spiritual growth, for lasting solutions, is increasingly being felt. Towards this end, modern psychology is drawing from India’s Vedic wisdom for insights to address various issues holistically. The new Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Vedic Psychology (AVP) by MIT School of Vedic Sciences (SVS), Pune, offers professional training in the Vedic principles of wellbeing and their methodical practice.
Value Proposition
This comprehensive PG Diploma offers knowledge and systematic training in Indian concepts of psychology to augment the effectiveness of modern psychology. Along with the theory, it teaches readily deployable therapy techniques for real-life practice. Its uniqueness and novelty is as follows.
· Draws from diverse Indian disciplines including Yoga, Ayurveda and Indic aesthetic sciences
· Presents a holistic Vedic model of human system, essential for counselling
· Enhances effectiveness in clinical psychology and counselling via value-add intervention skills
· Helps to become an expert in a field that is gaining global attention and demand
Highlighting the utility of the program to professionals, Dr. Sai Susarla, Dean, MIT SVS, said, “There are several unexplored principles in Indian wisdom that can be applied to enhance the effectiveness of professional psychotherapy. Today, this knowledge is available in fragments in silos with very little systematic, academic guidance for objective practice. Our AVP program aims to address this gap. It presents the Vedic understanding of human psychology, which is comprehensive and enables nuanced diagnosis. It includes time-tested techniques of treatment and human empowerment without the ill-effects of modern medicine.”
