INTRODUCTION
Several centuries back, there lived a siddhar in Tamil Nadu known as Punnakisar. He was brought up by his mother, and she used to serve him with the “KRISHNA TEMPLE HOLY PRASAD” from his younger age itself. He will go along with her to the Krishna temple and eagerly worships the great Lord Sri Krishna. After his mother’s death, he left his home and sat inside the hole of a fig tree and performed intense meditation on Lord Krishna for several days. He was also a devotee of Lord Shiva.
After finishing his meditation, he will used to cry saying “Oh Lord Krishna, I am feeling very hungry, please provide me food”. Immediately Lord Krishna will transform himself into a cowherd and offer fruits and milk to him in an affectionate manner. After taking the holy food, the great Siddhar will again start doing his meditation. Through that he has got great powers, and in course of time, people began to visit him and tell their worries. The Siddhar also cured their various diseases with the help of the green herbs, and insists them to frequently chant the mantra “OM NAMO BHAGAVATHE VASUDEVAYA NAMAHA” and “OM NAMAH SHIVAYA” in order to get relieved from their sins and problems in their life.
Once he got the darshan of Pambatti siddhar, and become his disciple and learned all the spiritual concepts from him. Through that, he has got great spiritual energy. He also wrote several songs in praise of Lord Krishna and Lord Shiva, and used to sing the songs in the temples. After his death, his devotees began to worship the holy fig tree in which he has stayed for a long time.
Let us worship the holy Siddhar and be blessed.
