HAIDAKHAN BABAJI
INTRODUCTION
Haidakhan Babaji, also called as Babaji was a spiritual teacher who has shown his divine presence in the Haidakhan village in Uttarakhand during the year 1970, and he lived there till 1984.
His followers consider him to be a great saint similar to Mahavatar Babaji. Haidakhan Babaji declares himself as the rebirth of Hariakhan Baba who lived during the 19th century AD.
During the year 1971, Haidakhan Babaji travelled throughout India, propagated the Shiva Bhakti amongst the people and insisted them to do yagna, and Shiva puja regularly in their homes. He was visited by famous film personalities like Shammi Kapoor, and by some foreigners.
After spreading the spirituality in the minds of the devotees for fourteen years, Haidakhan Babaji had attained Samadhi in the year 1984 at his Ashram. During his living period, he frequently used to tell to his devotees, that though he is not alive, his blessings would be always there for his true devotees, and he would safeguard them throughout their life.
Haidakhan Babaji treated all the religious people as one and the same, and he was against caste discrimination. He lived a very simple life and was very much attached with the principles of our Sanatana Dharma.
Babaji asked his devotees to work hard in order to earn something for their livelihood, and according to him “Work is worship”, and he would always ask his devotees to first do their job, and then to concentrate their attention on spirituality.
According to him, those who do good deeds and good acts in their life would get good sleep and their health condition also would be good. But those who involve themselves in bad thoughts and cause harm to others would never get good sleep and they would also suffer from various diseases. He frequently used to tell to his devotees to burn their bad karmas, in order to attain salvation after death.
Recitation of Gods names is also one of the teachings of Haidakhan Babaji. He insists his followers to recite the powerful “OM NAMAH SHIVAYA” mantra in order to attain goodness in their lives.
Babaji daily used to get up early in the morning, would take bath in the sacred River Ganga, and then he would start doing meditation. After some time, he would give darshan to his devotees, and he would take only one meal in a day, usually during the afternoons.
Haidakhan Babaji declared himself as “the Guru and the divine saviour”, and he would be found everywhere in the world, and he asked his followers and devotees to show sincere faith and bhakti on him.
