SHRI MADHAVNATH MAHARAJ
INTRODUCTION
Shri Madhavnath Maharaj (1857–1936) was a Hindu saint, and he was born and brought up in Chitrakoot, Madhya Pradesh, and he followed the Nath Sampradaya , founded by the Navnaths, nine Hindu saints of India.
Shri Madhavnath Maharaj was born in the year 1857 in a pious Hindu family, at a village in Nashik District.
Shri Madhavnath Maharaj attained divine bliss in a Vishnu temple at his young age, and after that, he went on a spiritual journey to Holy temples like Badrinath, Kedarnath, Rameshwaram, Somnath and the Samadhi Shrine of the Nava Naths (nine divine saints). After finishing his pilgrimage, He performed severe penance on the almighty for a few years in the Himalayas and attained great spiritual powers.
Shri Madhavnath Maharaj then went to many Holy temples, throughout India, and spread the importance of Navnath tradition amongst the people.
Shri Madhavnath Maharaj spread the importance of doing Yoga, Meditation and chanting of god’s names throughout India. With the help of his followers he constructed the Lakshmi Narayana temple in Aurangabad district in Maharashtra, and apart from this temple, he built several Hindu temples throughout India, in order to spread the bhakti amongst the people.
TEACHINGS
- God can be realized only through self- realization.
- God can be worshipped in any form, and he is most commonly worshipped as Trimurties, Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.
- God contains great powers, and it cannot be measured or cannot be known to our human knowledge.
- God is always available within our reach, in order to help us immediately.
- We cannot curse god for our own sufferings. We have to enjoy or suffer based on our karmic deeds.
- God is sending his divine messengers in the form of saints in order to give proper spiritual guidance to the mankind.
- Only through constant prayers and meditation, we can attain the glory of the god.
- Provide food to the hungry people, and be blessed by the almighty.
- Respect each and every person, and try to develop good habits from your childhood.
