JAYAPATAKA SWAMI

INTRODUCTION

Jayapataka Swami was born in the year 1949 in USA, is a saint and the spiritual leader for the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). He is the direct disciple of Sri Prabhupada, and he is a trustee for the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust. His birth name was Gordon John. He has studied his graduation in Brown University, and while studying his college education, he was inspired by the devotional lectures, and decided to travel in the spiritual path.

He met some Hare Krishna devotees, and due to that, he visited the San Francisco ISKCON centre, and participated in the spiritual activities of the ISKCON Centre. After some time, he went to Canada and met Srila Prabhupada, and he has become a saint and came to be known as ‘Jayapataka Dasa’. Jayapataka Swami Maharaj had printed the Bhagavat Gita books and dispatched them throughout the world. As per the instructions of his guru, Srila Prabhupada, Jayapataka went to Toronto and opened an ISKCON Temple.  After serving a few years in the Toronto centre, he came back to India, and began to preside over the ISKCON centres branches in India. Sri Jayapataka Swami is a sincere devotee of Lord Krishna, and due to that, he has sacrificed his life and became a saint.

He used to sing bhakti songs on Lord Krishna, and also spread the “SRI KRISHNA BHAKTI” among the masses. He is considered as a GEM among the Krishna devotees, and he was liked by the devotees of Krishna throughout the world. He also used to conduct spiritual lectures in the ISKCON Centres, and guided thousands of people in the spiritual path. Through his sincere and dedicated service to Lord Krishna, he has gained lot of spiritual energy and he is also sharing his spiritual thoughts and spiritual messages with others.
