SAROJA VIJAYAKUMAR -ARDENT DEVOTEE OF GURU RAGHAVENDRA
INTRODUCTION
Saroja Vijayakumar was a resident of Chennai, and she owned a house at Perambur, near Perambur Bus Depot, which is considered as a prime locality. She is a pious woman and she is a sincere devotee of Guru Raghavendra, and due to that, she had decided to donate a major portion of her house for constructing Raghavendra Swamy Mutt.
Several years before, she and her husband, Vijayakumar had purchased a plot from their savings, and built a spacious house for them at Perambur. They have also let out a portion of their house for rent, since Sri.Vijayakumar was worked only in a private firm, and he didn’t get any pension.
Mr.Vijayakumar had a dream in which, Guru Raghavendra asked him to establish a temple for him at his residence. And as per the wishes of the divine guru, the couple eagerly donated major portion of their house to Sri Vidyagasara Madhava Theertha Swamy on May 2003, and stayed only in a small portion of their house. After some time, Raghavendra Mutt was constructed out of the place which they have donated.
Regular pujas, sevas and festivals are grandly celebrated at the temple, and during Thursdays special pujas would be performed in this temple. In the upstairs of the temple, in a separate shrine, Lord Vishnu’s 7 foot idol is installed, and separate shrines for Dasavatars and Lord Hanuman are also found.
The Raghavendra Swamy Mutt branch at Perambur is known as Sri Varada Venkateswara and Avatharatraya Sri Ragavendra Swamy Matha, and the address of the Mutt is No.14, Srinivasa Mudali Street, Perambur, Chennai – 600011.
Devotees those who visited this temple had experienced lot of good changes in their life, and it is believed that whoever visits this temple, they would get the full grace of Guru Raghavendra, and their life would prosper.
