SWAROOPANAND SARASWATI
INTRODUCTION
Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati was born in the year 1924, in a village in Madhya Pradesh, and he is a spiritual leader and also fought for India’s freedom. He was the pontiff of Jyotir Math, Badrinath, and for some time, he served as a pontiff in Sri Dwarka peeth.
He was the disciple of Sri Brahmananda Saraswati of Jyotir Math and he also served as a president of the Akhil Bharatiya Ram Rajya Parishad.
Swami Swaroopanand, fought in the year 2012, to clear the hydro projects, and dam project on the Holy River Ganga. He also wants the Holy River to be cleansed and requested the devotees to remove the dirt and garbage from the River. He also requested the government to stop slaughtering the holy cows, since they give milk for us, which is very nutritious and helps in strengthening our body.
He asked the women activists to stay away from Lord Shani, when some of the women activist members forcibly tried to enter into Shani Shingnapur temple.
Swami Swaroopanand insisted the Hindus not to worship Shirdi Saibaba, since he is a Muslim Saint. He also added that the “followers of Sai Baba should not worship Lord Rama”, and they should not be allowed to bath in the Holy Ganges River. But most of the Hindus objected his remarks on Shirdi Baba, and addressed to him that Sainath is a universal saint, who can be worshipped by all classes and people of all religions.
Swami Swaroopanand also attacked ISKCON by words by telling that the institution, are not properly utilizing the funds received from the devotees for the appropriate purposes.
Swami Swaroopanand expresses his sadness that the Hindu youths are losing their faith in Hinduism, when compared to those of other religions. He asked the government to include Hindu scriptures in the schools and college subjects, in order to spread the importance of Hinduism in the minds of the students. He also wants the young Hindus to watch spiritual discourses on Bhagavatham and Bhagavat Gita, in order to develop strong faith on Lord Krishna. He wants lot of articles to be written by the Hindu spiritual personalities, on spiritual matters, and that should be shared in social Medias, in order to spread the sweetness of our holy religion Hinduism amongst the masses.
