INTRODUCTION
Why we should worship god in the form of Lord Muruga! This is a million dollar question which would frequently arouse in our mind?
Is there is any specific reason for worshipping him(Muruga)?
Will god(Muruga) punish us, if we didn’t worship him?
If we worship him, will there be any change in our life?
If we neglect to worship, then what will happen?
If we worship him only occasionally, then will the god shower his full grace on us?
If we keep on worshipping him day and night and for all the 365 days in a year, then whether we will get an opportunity to go to the heaven after our death?
Why god keeps his eyes tightly closed, when crime incidents happen frequently in the world?
Why god is not answering us, when we talk to him?
Why god is not appearing in front of us, even if we pay sincerity on him?
Why god doesn’t understand our problems, and why he didn’t correct the evil persons?
In a small paragraph, we can get the reply for all the above questions.
Worshipping the god in the form of Lord Muruga gives happiness, we are safe and secure on his hands, and we could be able to lead a comfortable life by worshipping him, and more than that we should not expect anything from him, since being the creator, god clearly knows what to do, when to do, how to do, and to whom to do. Even god highly respects the laid down rules of the law, and hence he doesn’t want to break it. We could see the god once if we realise him on our soul! There is no need to worship him for the entire day, by prohibiting our daily works. Just if we worship him even for a minute in a day, then, that itself would satisfy him. We have to do our duty (worshipping the god), but we should never expect the immediate outcomes from it! We can get a clear explanation for this through an example.
Gopal and Paul both are thick friends. Gopal is a believer of god, while Paul is a non-believer of god. As usual on one fine day, Gopal went to his beloved god temple, but, while he was returning from the temple, he accidently fell down, and he met with a small injury on his leg.
But, his friend Paul cheerfully greeted him and said that he found a ten rupee note on the road, and when he enquired others, about the ownership of the note, no one was willing to accept it and they have asked him to take the note, and hence Paul happily took the note, and narrated the incident, and when Paul found the small injury on the leg of Gopal he laughed at him, saying that since Gopal went to the temple, he was met with the accident, whereas he has got a small amount without even worshipping the god!
With a smiling face, Gopal had answered to his friend, “Listen clearly my dear friend Paul since I have visited the temple, instead of getting my leg fractured I was met up with a small accident, whereas, since you are a non-believer of god, instead of getting a golden treasure, you have got only a small amount”.
From the above example, we could clearly know about the significance in worshipping the god.
Instead of becoming servants and slaves to ordinary humans, let us prestigiously become a humble slave to Lord Muruga. After the birth of Lord Muruga, all of the deities, including those who lives in the 14 worlds, were very much delighted, since they have got the opportunity to serve Lord Muruga himself!
As per the Holy Skanda Purana, it was mentioned that Lord Muruga used to kindly treat everyone who worships him. Muruga contains a smiling face, and whenever if he finds any mistakes with his divine attendants, he would never scold at them, but instead of that, he would correct them in a gentle and in a kind manner. Though he has got full rights to punish his attendants, but he didn’t do it, since he is an aspect of his father Lord Shiva. At present, though we are unable to get the divine vision of Lord Muruga with our naked eyes, yet, we can imagine as if we are sincerely serving the great Lord Muruga as his humble slave by gently pressing his legs, by glorifying him with songs, and by affectionately watching his shining face. Instead of imagining some unwanted things, we can imagine about Lord Muruga, and we can also consider him as our best friend. Once if we keep on doing like that, then he would stood before us, and would give suitable suggestions to us, he would make us to run a successful life, and we would never get cheated by others.
We can also imagine that we are travelling along with Lord Muruga to the sacred Himalayan Mountains, by gently pressing his lotus hands, and also by the way of washing his legs with the sacred Ganga Water, and we can also ask our queries to him from the Holy Skanda Purana. By doing that, we would be able to control our mind, since we have been filled up with full of spiritual thoughts on Lord Muruga.
The great Skandanar saints have expressed their wishes to the Lord, in order to become even a small dust particle in the body of Lord Muruga, in order to enjoy the divine pleasure for ever in their life by permanently dwelling on the body of Lord Muruga. They also sung lot of devotional songs and praised Lord Muruga for showering his great mercy on them. Most of us are daily wasting our life by spending our leisure time in silly entertainment activities, since we consider that would give good peace of mind. By watching those people who perform dance, sing songs and sanctifies the glory of Lord Muruga, we would be able to realise how importance is to show our attention on “SRI SKANDAN BHAKTI”.
As per the teachings of Lord Muruga, “Always keep thinking about me, me, and me only, then your mind would not be filled up with garbage, and your mind would become pure and pious. Those sincere devotees, like Ma Avvaiyar and Sri Arunagirinathar have kept their entire attention on me, and hence, they have attained good position, and if you too keep strong faith and bhakti on me similar to my devotees, then I promise you, that henceforth, there would be no subsequent births for you, and you would be totally merged with me”.
Hence let us imagine ourselves that we are spending our most of time with Lord Muruga by listening to his wonderful divine speech, and by watching his divine beauty again and again.
