INTRODUCTION
Everybody knows about the mighty bear king Sri Jambavan and his bravery, and also about his daughter Jambavati who was married to Lord Krishna during the Dwapara Yuga. But nobody was aware of his noble son Sri Sukumaran, who also contains the qualities of his father Jambavan. He was mentioned in the Vishnu Purana and his greatness is also mentioned. He was a child, when Lord Krishna fought with Jambavan for getting the Syamantaka jewel from Jambavan, in order to prove his innocence and change his bad name among the people, due to that jewel.
Lord Krishna blessed the child Sukumaran and gave various boons to him. Sukumaran utilized his powers only for the sake of doing goodness to others. He protected the Rishis and rishi pathnis from various demons, and moved with them as their affectionate son.
His appearance was similar to that of Jambavan, and when Jambavan retires from the world and went to his father Brahma’s world Satyaloka, he also accompanied with him. It is believed that he still lives in the Satya Loka along with his father Jambavan and doing meditation and chants the names of the Trimurties and Tridevis.
Let us worship the noble bear prince and be blessed.
