Introduction
Tristrota Shakthi Peetha is the place where Devi Sati’s left leg fell. Here Devi is worshipped as Brahmari / Bumblebee and Lord Shiva as Ishwar.
Location
The temple is located on the banks of river Tista in Shalbari Village of Falakata in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. Regular buses ply to Falakata village. Direct trains are available to Jalpaiguri, which is the nearest railway station. From the railway station, local transport is easily available to reach the temple. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose airport is the nearest airport.

Puranic Reference
According to one reference, there once lived a demon, Arunasura who drove out devas from heaven and set up his kingdom. The demon started troubling the Devis (wives of devas) too. Devis in the heaven prayed to Devi Parameshwari to save them from the asura. Goddess Parameshwari transformed herself into a large bee and surrounded the devis as a swarm of bees. The bees began to attack the demon. The demon died in the attack. Devis thanked goddess Parameshwari Devi for having saved them. Thus the goddess Parameshwari got the name Brahmari Devi.

Festivals and Fairs
Navaratri is celebrated in Ashwija masa (Sep- Oct). Special pujas and Yagnas are held during Navaratri. Another festival known as “Kumbham” is celebrated in Chaitra (Mar- April) every year. Some of the other festivals celebrated are Makara Sankranti, Sharad Poornima, Deepavali, Somvati Amavasya and Ram Navami.
Devotees offer milk, sweets, fruits to the goddess.
