YONI AND LINGAM ARE THE SYMBOLS OF LORD SHIVA AND MA SHAKTI
INTRODUCTION
Yoni and Lingam represents the forms of Lord Shiva and Ma Shakti. Yoni and Lingam are the sexual organs of the females and males respectively, and there is no need to feel bad to talk about it, since only with these organs, the creation work is still going and going and humans are also helping Lord Brahma in his creation work by the way of producing good children in the world. Several pious Bhagavathas, saints and sages like Prahalada, Dhruva, Markandeya, Narada, Tumburu, Vyasa and Guru Raghavendra have been generated in this holy earth, only through the usage of Lingam and Yoni, and hence there is no need to consider these two symbols as disgusting objects.
Lingam and Yoni though represents the male and female sexual organs but it symbolises the divine powers of Lord Shiva and Ma Shakti. It is also believed that only with the blessings of Lord Shiva and Shakti, the human production process is going on continuously without any interruption. As per an ancient Divine Tamil Proverb, “MAKAT PERU MAGESAN KAIYIL”, which means giving birth to good children can be attained only through the blessings of Lord Shiva, and only with his grace, humans could produce children. Bachelors and Spinsters need not worry about their non-enjoyment of Sexual pleasures, since by the way of devoting their attention on divine matters they could enjoy more and more permanent spiritual pleasure.
In ancient Shaktism and Shaivism traditions of Hinduism, the symbols Lingam and Yoni are mentioned, and as per the writings mentioned in our ancient Hindu holy texts, all the male genders are to be considered as the forms of Lord Shiva, and all the female genders are to be considered as the forms of Ma Shakti Devi.
The organ yoni is mentioned as an aspect of Ma Shakti Devi, and it is found in some Shakti Devi Temples in North India, and also the image of Yoni is inscribed in Kamakhya Temple in Assam.
Yoni and lingam images are also found in ancient stone temples of Indonesia, Cambodia and Thailand. Yoni Mudra is a type of Mudra which is used while practicing Yoga.
Hence the sexual organs, Yoni and Lingam, must be kept clean, and it should be used for producing good children, only after proper marriage ceremony.
But nowadays, due to body attraction and due to sensual pleasures, some young girls and boys are using these organs for satisfying their body pleasure and for fulfilling their sexual desires, and due to that they are facing lot of problems before the society, and especially the girls!
Hence let us consider our sexual organs as a sacred object, and let us consider it as a part and parcel of Lord Shiva and Shakti, and let us be blessed.
