INTRODUCTION
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (1918-2008) was an Indian Guru, who was specialised in yoga and meditation, and his new form of meditation also called as Transcendental Meditation, was very popular and it has attained world-wide recognition. In his new form of meditation, he added divine mantras, which has to be uttered very silently, without raising any voice. His birth name was Mahesh Prasad Varma.
After graduated in the year 1942, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi served as a disciple to Swami Brahmananda Saraswati who was the then pontiff of the Holy Jyotir Math situated in the Himalayas. Through his guru’s guidance, Mahesh Yogi had learnt a lot about spirituality, yoga and meditation. In the year 1955, he introduced his Transcendental Meditation to the entire world. He also travelled to many foreign countries, and cultivated the bhakti spirit in the minds of the spiritual aspirants and also trained them yoga and his famous Transcendental Meditation.
