SONGS IN PRAISE OF LORD VINAYAKA BY VALLALAN

INTRODUCTION

The details about Vallalan were mentioned in the Vinayaka Purana. Vallalan dedicated his entire life towards worshipping Lord Vinayaka, and he is considered be an ancient devotee of Lord Vinayaka, who is believed to have been taken birth during the Treta Yuga. He is also considered to be a staunch devotee of Lord Vinayaka similar to the pious sage Purushundi who also lived during the Treta Yuga. After their death, both of them were attained salvation, and reached the abode of Lord Vinayaka, and it is believed that they still reside in the Ganesa Loka, by worshipping Lord Ganesa.

During his lifetime, most of the time, Vallala used to perform Ganapathy puja, and apart from that, he also used to compose bhakti songs and sung in praise of Lord Ganapathy. Some of the wonderful songs sung by the great Vallalan are as follows:-
