The Stambeshwar Mahadev temple, also known as the disappearing temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, the ultimate creator and destroyer. This temple has put a small town of Kavi Kamboi, about 40 miles from Vadodara in Gujarat on the world map. This temple was found around 150 years ago. What is unique about this temple is that it is present in middle of the Arabian Sea. Hence it can be visited only during low tides. During high tides, the temple remains almost submerged. Several Shiva devotees throng this place to observe the phenomenon of submerging and re-emerging of the temple from the vast sea.
