Jakhoo Hill in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh is the highest peak in the Shivalik Ranges offering a panoramic view of the town of Sanjauli. The hill is famous for the world’s tallest idol of Lord Hanuman which is 108 feet in height and is installed at an altitude of 8000 feet (2455 mtrs) above sea level. Legend has it that Lord Hanuman stopped at Jakhoo Hill to rest while he was searching for the herb Sanjivani to revive Lakshmana after he was felled by the arrows of Indrajit.
